Rough Tor

The horses are in the lower part of the valley, which should have told me the weather forecast. In my enthusiasm I only notice the foals playing happily with each other. 

Happy myself to be out on the Moors again, I zigzag my way up to Rough Tor. It's a mere 350 metres, which is really a hill after the Brecon Beacons! Still I take it easy, enjoying every step. 

The tor is as rocky as you can get them. Practicing my monkey skills I climb up to the top. And what a view! The image above shows you Brown Willy, which is the highest tor of Bodmin Moor with its 420 metres above sea level. Both tors are mountains really, I mean, me with my 1.65 metres can't really talk of it being hills, can I? 

On the top I see the rain coming in. This is a kind tor though and I manage to find myself a shelter. Squeezed in, I watch the rain pass by. It's interesting to see the shower pass in front of me through the valley. When it stops, I briefly consider making my way onwards, but then more rain tells me to go down and as I do so, I receive a proper shower from the heavens. Ah yes, the horses showed me...
