The storm shaking the lodge

I woke up in the middle of the night, the wind hauling around the lodge, shaking it.

The strong winds had quickly turned into a storm. Combined with rain, the weather became disastrous. 4.30am, I woke up, the wind hauling around the lodge, shaking it. I quickly got up to check on my car. It still stood there in front of the lodge. I prayed it would stay there.

The weather forecast informed me that the windspeed was about 40 knots with gusts of 50 knots. That’s 100 km/h! I had never experienced something like that in my life. On top of a hill a mere 4 km from the coast.

No sleeping anymore and there was only one thing I could do: meditate. The very intention was to ground deeply in my core, that calm inner space and the radiate it out. I can’t really say it made a difference, but at least I felt calmer.

The morning came and the storm kept on. It wasn’t until halfway the morning that it calmed down. I had booked in for a swim in the indoor pool and as I walked down there, the wind was merely a breeze, refreshing my spirits. The miraculous thing was that there wasn’t any noticeable damage on the park. Fortunately also Majestic still stood on its four wheels in the same spot, once more honouring its name.
